ICUMSA 600–1200 (Raw/Brown Sugar)
ICUMSA 600–1200 sugar is a raw brown cane sugar grade produced from the first crystallization of sugar cane juice. It is darker in colour (brown to golden brown) compared with refined white sugars because it retains a significant portion of the natural molasses, which gives it a richer flavour and a higher mineral content. Unlike highly refined white sugar, ICUMSA 600–1200 is typically used in industrial food processing, baking, confectionery, beverages, and as a commodity raw material for further refining into higher grades.
Natural Molasses & Colour: The brown colour (ICUMSA 600–1200) comes from residual molasses, giving it natural caramel and earthy flavour notes — stronger than refined white sugar.
Usage & Applications
Food manufacturing: baking, confectionery, sauces, beverages.
Industrial feedstock: can be used in fermentation and processing where ultra-white sugar is not required.
Refinery feed: base raw material for further refining into white sugar grades like ICUMSA 45.
Commodity Grade: Widely traded on global sugar markets, particularly as excipient for food processing and further refinement.
